Our story began in a simple place: work. There, in the midst of the ordinary, God was already writing something much greater. I had my heart deeply set on Him, while he was still far from faith. At that moment, my path was clear: I did not want a relationship, because I had decided to go on a one-year mission to Brazil.
But love, when it comes from God, does not follow rigid plans. He began to draw closer, with patience and conviction. He told me he would wait for me… and, without us realizing it, in that process he also began to grow closer to God.
Against all human logic, we decided to get married in January, quietly, without anyone knowing. We wanted to protect our plans: I would continue my mission, and he would return to his studies. But God’s plans are always greater than ours. What we tried to keep hidden, He brought into the light.
Today, in this time of preparation to receive the sacrament, my heart is filled with peace and gratitude. I can clearly see how God has guided every step, even in moments of doubt. I feel deeply grateful to have a man like Mauricio by my side: a faithful partner who has opened his heart to God and walks with me in love, patience, and devotion.
Together, we continue learning, growing, and trusting, knowing that this story did not begin with us… it began with Him.
